Defence Institute of Advanced Technology (DIAT), Girinagar, Pune, a Deemed University and an autonomous institute under Department of Defence Research & Development, has invited applications for admission to the Ph.D. and M.Tech. Programmes of the Institute for the Academic Year 2009-10.

Ph. D. Programmes

Age limit for all M. Tech programmes is 26 years as on 01.07.09.

Eligible Degree : M.Sc. in Physics/ Applied Physics/Applied Optics/ Electronics OR B.E./B.Tech

Programme Offered: Modelling & Simulation
Department: Applied Mathematics
Eligible Degree : M. Sc in Maths/Statistics/OR /Computer Science passed with Mathematics at graduate level/ Bachelor’s degree in Engg / Technology. Proficiency in Computer Programming is essential

Minimum Qualification

(a) Ph.D.: 55% marks or equivalent in M.E./M. Tech. or Equivalent for Ph.D. in Engineering and Master of Science or Equivalent with 55% marks or equivalent for Ph.D. in Science.
(b) M. Tech: 55% Marks or 5.5 CGPA in the qualifying examination and valid GATE/UGC-CSIR NET exam score.
(c) The candidates who are in the final semester of their degree are eligible to apply, Mark sheet up to the last semester should be enclosed.
(d) Provisional certificate in such cases along with Mark sheet of the final semester is required to be submitted before commencement of programme.

Selections

The admissions will be based on performance in the written exam/interview.

How to Apply:

Candidates can download the application form and the details from our website www.diat.ac.in. Duly filled applications should be accompanied by prescribed registration fee of Rs. 200/-(Rs. 100/- for SC/ST candidates) by means of DD drawn in favour of “Vice Chancellor, Defence Institute of Advanced Technology, PUNE – 25” payable at State Bank of India, Girinagar Branch(Code 02155), PUNE – 411 025. The candidates are requested to write their name and department (or name of sub-discipline in case of Ph.D. applicant), which they are applying on the reverse side of the draft. The application form with necessary enclosures should reach to the Registrar, DIAT, Girinagar, PUNE-411025 by 30 Apr 09. Separate application must be sent for each programme.

Stipend

Stipend is applicable to limited candidates based on the merit as per the MHRD/AICTE/UGC guidelines for Ph.D./M. Tech candidates. Candidates with master’s degree in science seeking admission to Ph.D. must have a valid GATE/UGC-CSIR NET score to become eligible for stipend provided by the Institute.
